All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) condemned Madhya Pradesh government's action in arresting its leaders, who were leading a march to Pipaliya market to protest the Mandsaur killings, in which six farmers lost their lives last month. The march -- Rashtriya Kisan Yatra -- was organised by scores of political parties and farmers' unions.Swaraj Abhiyan said the police arrested its leader Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar of Narmada Bachao Andolan, MP Raju Shetty of the Swabhimani Shetkari Saghatana, Hannan Mollah of All India Kisan Sabha leader, among others.

The committee said the Madhya Pradesh government was shaken after a huge number of farmers participated in the march. They took a dig at the central government for anti-farmer policies."The central government, which won the elections in the name of farmers, has proven to be the biggest anti-farmer government in the history of this country," a release quoted Patkar as saying.Yadav said the committee has decided to go ahead with the march as planned and fight for the rights of the farmers.

"We are not going to give ay kind of bond or file for any bail. Let the police arrest us, we will continue our protest in jail till the demands of farmers are not accepted," the release quoted Yadav as saying.Meanwhile, Rastriya Kisan Mahashangha -- an umbrella organisation of 62 farmers' unions -- said it was not the part of the march and called the organisers "self-acclaimed farmer leaders who use the march as a political weapon".However, it has decided to continue its indefinite protest at Jantar Mantar against the farmers' killing in Madhya Pradesh and to press for its demand of adequate compensation and loan waiver.
