Xerox to Strengthen Its Operations in Mahrashtra

Xerox has announced plans to tap the growing document management outsourcing opportunity in Maharashtra . Xerox announced plans to double headcount and client base for its XGS division in the West by targeting BFSI and Telecom industries by December 2007.
 
Currently, Xerox Global Services has a team of 100 people in Maharashtra and 25 per cent of its clients are based out of West India . Xerox Global Services aims to increase this to 200 people and increase its client base by 50% in West India by December 2007. XGS will also build a dedicated team of 6 BFSI and Telecom specialists to further grow the market.
 
Xerox Global Services boasts of over 70 large enterprises and a team of 15,000 people globally. Its clients include global companies like Nokia, Microsoft, Boeing and HSBC amongst others. XGS clients in Pune include Citigroup, Convergys, Dow chemicals and Standard Chartered amongst others.
 
Outlining the document management outsourcing India opportunity, Mr. Ravi Venkatraman, Director, Xerox Global Services, Xerox India , said “Documents consume approximately 50% of the IT budgets (IDC) and this represents an enormous opportunity for Xerox Global Services. Xerox is the only player in the industry to offer end-to-end services (Business Process Services, Xerox Office Services, Document Outsourcing and Communication Services and Free Flow Web Services) on a pay per usage model. Through these offerings, we aim to add value to our client businesses and enable them to focus on their core expertise by managing & outsourcing the entire document process.”
 
Speaking about the XGS's plans to tap the Maharashtra market, Mr. Venkatraman added “ Maharashtra is an important market and contributes close to over 50% of the XGS India revenues. We will be tapping the BFSI and Telecom verticals in Pune & Mumbai and will engage with 40 Chief Financial Officers of large enterprises in West India by the end of 2007. Alongside, we will roll out an educational outreach campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of document management outsourcing.”
