Kirusa Launches next generation "International Voice SMS Access Node"

June 25, 2007

Kirusa, the leading developer of value added mobile services, has announced the launch of its International Voice SMS Access Node product for mobile carriers worldwide. This next generation product enables all subscribers of a carrier to send Voice SMS messages in a cost effective manner to friends, family, and colleagues in other countries.

Kirusa’s International Voice SMS Access Node allows mobile carriers to offer the seamless, integrated International Voice SMS experience to their mobile subscribers, enabling them to send Voice SMS messages to any mobile user around the globe; even in the countries where mobile carriers have not yet launched the Voice SMS service. The Kirusa Voice SMS Access Node allows subscribers to send Voice SMS messages to more than one billion mobile subscribers across the globe today, with further expansion expected shortly.

For subscribers of mobile carriers, the convenience of Voice SMS is now extended to all international recipients. The Kirusa Voice SMS Access Node connects operators globally. Recipients can retrieve their messages locally.

Mobile operators get high value and margin for international messages. The Kirusa Voice SMS Access Node provides the benefits of International Voice SMS messaging with no need for an existing deployment of Voice SMS in an operator’s network or the need for a Voice SMS deployment from specific vendors. The end user experience is unchanged except for use of international addressing when composing a message.

Ewald Anderl, VP and CTO of Kirusa said, “Mobile carriers and subscribers around the world can benefit from the International Voice SMS Access Node capability. For example, this value added service will enable consumers in Middle East to communicate with friends and family in South Asia in a cost effective manner. Business users in one continent can send voice messages to business associates in other continents, without regard to differences in time zones, and even if the recipients do not use voicemail. Kirusa is yet again using its world class innovation to help people communicate.”

Mr. Babar Ahmad, Head-Products and Services, Warid Telecom, Pakistan said, “We are working with Kirusa to offer our subscribers an easy and economical way to reach out to their family and friends outside Pakistan with yet another service that perfectly complements their increasingly mobile business and personal communication needs.”

Kirusa is committed to an open standards approach embracing multiple vendor inter-operability with other services and vendors (Email, Voice SMS, MMS), that will drive a broader global adoption of International Voice SMS.
