HP has introduced its HP PC Tracing and Data Security Service (TDSS) service for notebooks under the HP Total Care campaign in India. This service is a data protection and laptop tracking service that protects data and helps organizations comply with data protection regulations. A service that will ensure ‘peace of mind' to users in the large and emerging enterprises, to secure their notebooks and the data inside it.
Worldwide about 10,00,000 laptops are reported to be stolen or lost every year with a retrieval rate less than 2%. More than the loss of the notebook the users are worried about the data in it which may be misused. In today's day and age, data is one of the most important assets for any organization. Unfortunately data breaches have become common, especially as a result of laptop theft. This unique service from HP helps locate stolen laptop and also lets the user permanently destroy their sensitive data in a stolen computer to prevent unauthorized access or data breach. This new HP service allows worldwide location tracking of the notebook and it continues even after sensitive files and folders are destroyed. The HP TDSS permanently and irrecoverably destroys data in a stolen laptop.

HP PC Tracing and Data Security Service is a Premium Care Pack Service that enables tracing of lost or stolen notebook & enables remote data destruction for data security. This service is under HP Total Care's ‘protect stage' coupled with Accidental Damage insurance and E-mail filter services.
Pricing And Availability
The HP PC tracing service is available across the country. The PC Tracing Carepack for HP Business notebook will be priced at Rs 450 for one year and at Rs 1000 for three years. The PC Tracing service along with data destruction Carepack for HP Business notebook is priced at Rs 2000 for one year and Rs 5000 for three years.
