Samsung has appointed eSys as the National Distributor for Laser Printers and Multi Function Printers. eSys will be Samsung's third National Distributor for both these categories of Printers, in addition toNeoteric and Redington. The Company also has an exclusive network of 10 Regional Distributors for Multi Function printers.
“We will leverage eSys national sales network as well as channel strength for our Printer business,” states R. Zutshi, Deputy MD, Samsung. The appointment of eSys falls in line with the Company's plans to aggressively expand its printer penetration in the country. The Company is targeting a 50% jump in Printer sales this Year and expects to notch up a market share of 20% in the Printer category this Year.
Samsung will be providing service for all the Printer products distributed by eSys as in the case of the other National Distributors. In the month of March this Year , Samsung had also announced strategic distribution tie ups with Lipi Data Systems Ltd. for distribution of select hi end network printers (like ML-2571N, ML-3051 ND, ML-3561ND and ML-4551ND) and with Kores for distribution of its printer consumables.
The addition of Kores stationary channel is providing Samsung a strong reach in B & C Class cities as well as giving access to small retail stores for Consumable Sales. The Company is leveraging Lipi Data Systems reach in the Government and corporate channel for fully tapping these sectors for it's hi end network printers. In the first Quarter of this Year, Samsung has enhanced its Multi Function Printer range by launching the World's smallest Colour Laser MFP, CLX-3160 and its Digital Multi Function Printer, SCX-6345N.
In addition to strengthening its product range and distribution network, Samsung India has also increased its Printer sales manpower in the first quarter of this year.” We have doubled our printer sales manpower to give the necessary thrust to our Printer business. The number of Printer Stockist partners will also be increased by around 25 per cent ”, states Zutshi.
