EnableM launches “the prep guide” for MBA aspirants

April 11, 2007

EnableM, a leader in Wireless Applications, has announced that it has tied-up with IMS, a leader in the field of Management Entrance training, to launch a comprehensive learning vertical for MBA aspirants called the ‘the Prep Guide'. This service would be available on your mobile phones through WAP/SMS/ Voice and multiple applications and is being launched with two major operators to begin with. Eventually the service will be made available across all telecom operators.

This is the first time that such an extensive initiative has been taken up in India on this medium for learning. The current emphasis would be on general vocations and skewed towards preparation for all management examinations. It is a comprehensive module catering to all the learning requirements for an MBA training programme, which comprises of an English Zone, Math Zone, Logic & Reasoning and Must Know (General Knowledge). The highlight of this module is the Community Zone, which will facilitate a lot of interaction with and within the student community.

Amit Zaveri, COO, EnableM says, “Learning through mobile is still at its nascent stage and with the growing usage of mobile phones, we thought this would be the most opportune period to tap this market. We have always believed that the mobile phone can be used to enrich one's quality of life and with this tie-up we are trying to aid the MBA aspirants in this direction by making the possibility of “learning on the move” a reality. Our endeavor is to supplement the current learning methodology using technology and simplifying the learning process for the student.”

Mr. John Gabriel Head of Marketing, IMS says, “IMS has pioneered the MBA Test Prep market and been at the cutting edge of innovation in both training material and methodology. Mobile devices permeate the MBA aspirant group. Given the depth of penetration and usage of this device, we thought it logical to empower the aspirants through ‘prep on the move'. Given time pressures and increased commuting time, a device which is close to the heart (literally) will only prove beneficial. We are very excited to enter into this partnership with EnableM and believe this alliance will help us add a lot of value to our products.”

Learning through the wireless device is gathering significant importance with utility becoming an important VAS component.

The service will work as a supplementary learning aid and will allow to take quick tests on specific subjects, access wordlists/ flashcards, quick tips on math and logic etc. The interactive nature of the medium makes it possible to provide quick and personalized feedback from the trained faculty of IMS. Further a student will also get help to figure out eligibility across institutes and universities in and outside the country. Eventually, this service will also facilitate greater interaction within the student community.
