Canon has announced its first ever brand showroom in India called – ‘Canon Image Lounge' at Gurgaon where the customers can touch, feel and try the products. The Image lounge is an all new concept aiming to provide to all kinds of consumers -- from the casual buyer to the enthusiast – with the most compelling, comprehensive display of Canon's vast range of consumer offerings in a non selling environment.
The store was inaugurated by Mr. Kensaku Konishi, President & CEO, Canon India and Mr. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India . The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Arjun Asrani, Chairman Indo-Japan Partnership Forum and Former Indian Ambassador to Japan . The guest of honour was Mr. Keizo Takewaka, Minister (Economic & Development), Embassy of Japan in India . Also present on the occasion were two Senior General Manager from Canon Inc, Tokyo . Laying the foundation for major expansion, this is Canon's first fully owned world class interactive and informative shopping experience outlet in the country. Located at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon and spread over 2000 sq. feet, the state-of-the-art image lounge provides the appropriate ambience and right platform for new products as well as new technologies to be showcased and experienced.
Canon ‘Image Lounge' will exhibit the entire range of consumer product offerings from the house of Canon like printer, scanner, projector, digital camera, digital camcorder and All-in-One device categories under one roof. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kensaku Konishi, President & CEO, Canon India said, “It's a momentous occasion for us at Canon. Canon's Image lounge is a unique ‘first of its kind' concept in India serving as a guide for the digital enthusiasts by providing a ‘before-you-buy' experience & information. Sharing his sentiments, Mr. Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India said, “Although there are over 4000 retail points in India where Canon camera and printer products are available, we at Canon believe that there was a need for a platform for us to showcase our products and allowing the consumers to walk in, touch, feel and try our complete range of consumer offerings. By visiting the image lounge, the customer can not only obtain first hand information on new products launched and make an informed choice of purchase, but is also not under any commitment to purchase.” He further added “We have displayed over 100 consumer products in this showroom spread over 7 zones of Powershot digital cameras, IXUS lifestyle cameras, Selphy photo printers, Digital Video camcorders, EOS Digital SLR, PIXMA single function and All-in-One printers and XEED Projector room.
Canon will be running exciting inaugural offers on all products through its sales outlets in Ambience mall. This is part of Canon's initiative to set up exclusive retail showroom across the country. There will be 2 more outlets in Mumbai and Bangalore which will be inaugurated before June 2008. Initiatives like these are definite enabler for Canon to reach Rs. 700 crore by 2008.
