ATEN International, leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions, adds the 8-port and 16-port Cat 5 High-Density KVM switches- KH1508 and KH1516 to its ALTUSEN product line. The innovative KVM switches allow users to connect up to 8 or 16 servers of multiple platforms via RJ-45 connectors and Cat 5 cabling, and to control them from a single KVM (keyboard, video, and mouse) console. KH1508/KH1516 extend the distance between KVM switch and servers up to 40 meters transmitting an excellent video quality, and allow administrators to control up to 512 attached servers by linking additional units.
KH1508 and KH1516 are economical Cat 5 KVM switches especially designed for growing small and medium-sized businesses in need of a flexible, scalable, convenient and secure network installation. These two new models are offered in an 8 and 16 computer port configuration with a 1U high housing for convenient rack mounting. Utilizing various customized KVM adapter cables (CPU modules), both models are compatible with existing PC, Mac, Sun and terminal-based systems. Administrators can conveniently access the connected servers via port selection switches, hotkeys and the intuitive OSD menu.

Combined with Auto Signal Compensation (ASC), KH1508/KH1516 allows signals to travel up to 40 meters and maintain an excellent video quality (1280 x 1024 pixels). The two level password security of KH1508/KH1516 allows authorized users (up to four users and the administrator) to view and control the servers, thus protecting the system and vital business information. Furthermore, the devices feature front panel LEDs that indicate the position of the units.
