HP Wins Global Business Process Outsourcing Compliance Award

April 26, 2007

HP has been awarded the 2007 ‘Global BPO Compliance Award' in the Third-Party Provider Category by International Quality & Productivity Center (IQPC).

HP received the award at the Global Excellence Awards Ceremony held during the Shared Services + Outsourcing: 2007 Global Conclave in Hyderabad in March. The Conclave was organized by Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON), a division of IQPC.

Commenting on the accomplishment , Mr. Sanjay Singh, President & Country Manager, HP BPO in India said, “We are delighted to have won the Global BPO Compliance Award. Our belief is that compliance and reporting go a long way in building trust and a true partnership with our customers. Our presence in more than 178 countries has helped us build in-depth expertise in global & local legal and regulatory environments. Today, this helps customers better manage their operational, financial, and brand risks and ensures a worry-free relationship with HP.”

Abhaey Singh, Conclave Producer & Managing Director, IQPC India , said “The awards reflect and feed off the significant effort and commensurate achievements of the industry as a whole – both captive and third party – in not only addressing industry challenges such as talent retention and compliance, but also in continuing the move up the value chain by providing more advanced services to clients.”

The selection process for the Global Excellence Awards involved identifying and assessing leading organizations and individuals, instituting a nominations process, supported by a voting college consisting of community (public) votes, as well as votes from the delegates and speakers of the 2007 Global Conclave.

HP deploys and drives BPO process compliance and audit controls that are designed to suit client-specific requirements. HP's focus on business controls goes beyond frameworks and plans, with specific investments being made as part of our BPO capabilities in people, processes, systems and infrastructure.

There is a designated team of highly qualified professionals trained and certified in country-specific audit and tax requirements and ISO/BS security standards who drive process control-related improvements. For customers, this has resulted in standardized compliance policies and control procedures in Operations and compliance to various standards such as GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, Basel-II.
