Nokia has launch it's second ‘Vernacular news portal' in association with India 's leading media house. - Bhaskar Group. The Nokia vernacular news portal will add a new dimension to mobility, allowing consumers to be in touch with the latest news in local languages, anytime anywhere. This unique news portal is aimed to bridge the digital divide and bring the internet revolution to the masses.
In this endeavor Nokia is now enabling the local language news paper initiative much stronger by enabling Hindi and Gujarati on the mobile phones by tying up Bhaskar Group that is present in MP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh etc. With this innovative offering, all Nokia GPRS enabled handsets users across the country will be able to get national and international news in three regional languages and in English across categories of news - sports, travel, music, astrology and movies amongst others.
Today, Nokia news portal is available in 4 languages - including Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati and English. In the near future Nokia plans to tie up with many such media houses to broad base the language offerings on the news portal which would further expand the reach. This is another industry first by Nokia with the endeavor to build an environment conducive to a faster and more inclusive growth.

To download the Dainik Bhaskar & Divya Bhaskar news portal icon on your Nokia GPRS enabled handset by typing DB and sending an SMS to 5555. Post which the user will receive a URL on their handset and can download the icon by clicking on the URL and view the latest news updates instantly which will be refreshed every 30 minutes. The application can be activated on Nokia GPRS handsets such as Nokia 2626, 6233, 6300, 6131, N-72, N80, N95 etc.
