Intex forays into Car Audio Systems

August 16, 2007

Intex has announced its entry into the car entertainment industry with the launch of its Euphonic range of Audio/Video systems including speakers and subwoofers in sizes 4", 5-1/4", 6-1/2", 6"x9", 10" & 12". The range is designated as EUP 401, 501, 601, 602, 901, 1001 and 1201 respectively. To support this new product line, Intex has set up a new business vertical - In-Car Accessories.

Designed in Polypropylene & Glass Fibre casings, Intex car speakers are fully resistant to environmental deterioration and regular wear & tear. The range delivers high quality, distortion-free, crystal clear sound across a complete range of music ranging from deep bass to high treble. Their performance is comparable with well-known MNC brands and the consumers will find them a truly value-for-money offering.

EUP-602 speaker satisfies the needs of a first time buyer, for whom a good music system tops the list of car-accessories. Measuring 6-1/2” (17cm), it comes in a round shape with a three-way configuration. The cone is made up of sync woven glass fibre with Butyl rubber surround. The speakers, delivering peak power of 210 W, are ideal for fitment in Swift, Toyota Innova and other cars where the 6-1/2" slot is given in the door. It falls in the category of premium range of speakers and has been launched at a price of Rs. 3250 per set.

The mid-end range presents a decent choice for car-owners who are not satisfied with the performance of factory-fitted speakers and thus wish to upgrade the same. One of the notable models in this range is EUP -901. Measuring 6" x 9", it is an oval shaped, four-way speaker, made up of cone of Titanium plated Mica added IMPP Butyl rubber surround. The peak output of the speakers is 350 W. Suited for both sedans and small cars, it comes at Rs. 3750 per set.

Exuding confidence on this initiative, the company official said, “Considering the current market trend of customers wanting high quality sound in their cars, quality of speakers play a pivotal role. This venture personifies the excellent reputation Intex enjoys in multimedia speakers/subwoofers. We have now added one more product line in our In-Car Accessories range after the recent launch of MP3 FM modulators for cars. With increasing demand for cars, the car-electronics segment is showing tremendous growth potential and we hope to launch some more attractive audio-video products soon. Getting our teeth into setting up a separate distribution and service network, we wish to establish ourselves as one of the leading Indian brands in the segment.”
