In an aim to consolidate its product offerings for the SMB segment, Xerox has announced the launch of two laser printers, Xerox Phaser 3428 (monochrome laser printer) and Xerox Phaser 6110 (color laser printer). Both the products are part of Xerox's flagship " Phaser" range of laser printers.
Both the printers are compact in design, easy to install and use and are targeted at small and medium businesses and home users. The Xerox Phaser 6110 is priced at Rs. 16, 900 and Xerox Phaser 3428 is priced at Rs 28, 392, making them extremely affordable in the market. The Xerox Phaser 3428 will be one of the fastest desktop printers with duplex printing capability at this price point.
Sharing the details of the newly launched laser printers, Mr. Natesh Mani, Executive Director, New Office Group, Xerox India , said, "Xerox has been leading the conversion from "inkjet" to "laser" printers. The launch of Xerox Phaser 6110 and Xerox Phaser 3428 at such affordable prices will further accelerate this transition especially for the SMBs and the home user category, which is considered as one of the fastest adopters of laser printers in India today."
According to IDC Research, 2006, the market size for monochrome and color laser printer in India for the year 2006 was 4, 25,154 units of laser printers. The market for the color laser printers grew at 89% from 10,433 units in 2005 to 19, 673 units in 2006. The market for the monochrome laser printers grew from 2, 35, 405 units in 2005 to 3,61, 809 units in 2006, clocking a growth of 54%.
