HP Leads in Asia Pacific x86 Blade Server Factory Revenues

HP extended its lead in the x86 blade server revenues in Asia Pacific (inc. Japan ) in CY Q2, 2007 according to industry analyst firm IDC. The company increased its lead as the No. 1 x86 blade server vendor in CYQ2, 2007 with 41.3 percent total factory revenue share, a year-over-year factory revenue growth rate of 85.2 percent. HP also consolidated its leadership position in unit shipments share by capturing 44.7 percent of the market in the same period.

In CYQ2, 2007, HP maintained the No.1 position in x86 server shipments for 21 consecutive quarters (since CYQ2, 2002) securing 30.3 percent unit shipments share of the market. In addition, HP led in factory revenue terms across key server segments capturing 30.4 percent share of Windows servers, 30.4 percent of Linux servers and 80.8 percent of EPIC (Itanium) servers sold in Asia Pacific (inc. Japan) region in Q2 2007.

In the Asia Pacific (inc. Japan ) total disk storage market, HP ranked No. 1 in terabytes shipments with 23.0 percent market share. HP maintained leadership position in terabytes shipments with 19.9 percent market share in the external disk storage market.

In the worldwide blade server market, HP significantly increased its lead as the No. 1 vendor in CYQ2, 2007 period with 47.2 percent total factory revenues share and a year-over-year factory revenues growth rate of 71.9 percent.

According to IDC Worldwide Quarterly Server Tracker, August 2007, HP held its No. 1 position in unit shipments for the 21st straight quarter, increasing its server units by 17.4 percent year-over-year in CYQ2, 2007 and growing unit shipments the fastest of the top five vendors in the worldwide server market. With impressive growth across its ProLiant, Integrity and BladeSystem families, HP captured 33.7 percent total unit shipments share, shipping more than one out of every three servers in the world; it also grew server factory revenues faster than the market.
